Domestic energy prices are steadily rising again. Petrol and diesel prices have risen. Oil marketing companies are changing the prices of diesel and petrol in India every day according to international prices and foreign exchange.
However, the government is raising taxes whenever rates fall in the international market.
At present, the share of various taxes on the price of a liter of petrol is around Up to Rs. 55. With this, it seems like, with the Petrol price hike, the BJP is trying to divert people towards electric vehicles.
As the central excise price continues to rise, at least three lakh crore rupees a year is coming from petroleum products alone. Under the Congress, it was just Rs. 70,000 crores.
