The latest blockbuster, Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas and directed by Nag Ashwin, has taken the box office by storm. The mytho-sci-fi drama has resonated with audiences, and its success has led to a delay in its OTT release.
Initially, the film was set to stream on digital platforms in late July, but recent reports suggest that the release will now be postponed to the second week of September. Amazon Prime has secured the rights for the South languages, while Netflix will stream the Hindi version.
The makers are in talks with the OTT giants to extend the film’s theatrical run, given its impressive performance. Kalki 2898 AD has already grossed Rs 555 crore worldwide within four days of release, dominating the North American market with USD 11 million.
