The Telangana political scene is fully occupied with the phone tapping allegation as the incumbent Congress government is implying that the previous BRS government tapped the phones of several high-profile individuals. But the Telangana high court has started to keep the case at bay now.
The primary contention raised by the court pertains to the absence of requisite government permission to prosecute the four accused officials named in the chargesheet. These officials were serving at the time of the case’s registration and the subsequent filing of charges. According to legal protocols, permission from the government is mandatory for prosecuting officials during their service tenure.
“In addition to the lack of prosecution permission, the court highlighted discrepancies between the chargesheet and the supporting documents submitted as evidence,” a court official stated. “Dates crucial to the events cited in the chargesheet do not align with those documented in the submitted evidentiary materials.”
